The 'big 3' manufacturers made youth styled Panel Vans with the Holden Sandman, the Chrysler Drifter and the Ford Sundowner. Although Panel Vans are known for the surf culture, the 'youth' Panel Vans were far too expensive for your average surfer.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe Sundowner was available in 3 body styles the Escort, Transit and Falcon. The Falcon Sundowner was based on the Falcon 500 Van but included options reserved for GS Hardtop, with comprehensive dash instrumentation, 'NASA' bonnet scoops, slotted sport rims and driving lights. The side protection mouldings and rear side glass was removed from the Sundowner and replaced with distinctive loud side decals.
