One hundred and ninety-five engines were built by the LMS, adding to the 45 examples of the Midland Railway 1000 Class, to which they were almost identical. The most obvious difference is that the driving wheel diameter was reduced from 7ft. 0in. on the Midland locomotive to 6ft. 9in. on the LMS version. They were given the power classification 4P. The locomotives were constructed at Derby and Horwich Works and by outside contractors.\r\n\r\nThe LMS continued the Midland numbering from 1045 to 1199 and then started in the lower block of 900–939. After nationalisation in 1948, BR added 40000 to their numbers so they became 40900–40939 and 41045–41199.\r\n\r\nThe Class were withdrawn between 1952 and 1961. None have survived into preservation, though the first of the Midland 1000 Class engines was saved and is part of the National Collection.","brand":"Bachmann Branchline","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43092549435497,"sku":"803393058210","price":358.9,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":false}],"url":"https:\/\/auroratrains.com.au\/products\/bachmann-branchline-31-932-lms-4p-compound-41123-br-lined-black-early-emblem-oo-scale","provider":"Aurora Trains","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
