With the demand for bogie oil tanks increasing dramatically in the 1950s, many E/S chassis were converted to carry 9000 gallon oil tanks. Almost all the wagons were restricted to the broad gauge network within Victoria however the Koppers fleet ran to Morandoo Yard for loading at BHP's steelworks in Newcastle NSW.
